Workshops with Youth involved in alternative and sustainable living projects will also be organised in each partner country. These types of initiatives are increasing in many areas. Even though the reasons for people to get involved in such initiatives may vary, they usually include motivation to create positive change in their community, to increase access to organically grown food and ‘know where your food comes from’, or to avoid the environmental impact of imported food. In many cases, these initiatives are very locally-oriented but may lack a global dimension. The aim of the project workshops is to introduce intreseted young people and adult learners who are active in alternative and sustainable living projects to the interdependencies of the global food system, to stimulate greater awareness as well as solidarity with food producers around the world, and to encourage them to introduce a more global outlook in their initiatives.
